About the Staff

Carol Wasson, Proprietor

Ms. Wasson, a former concert artist, has had more than four decades of experience teaching piano and violin and is the owner of Wasson Music Center. As an avid supporter of the arts, Ms. Wasson created the annual arts event, Art at the Trace, held at Yankee Trace in Centerville, OH. She has served on the Centerville Arts Commission where she chaired the Stubbs Park Summer Concert Series and started Art in the Park in conjunction with the 2009 Concert Series. Previously on the board of the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association and a former volunteer for DVAC, Ms. Wasson is the chair of music auditions for several organizations. . “I’m thrilled to dedicate a portion of Wasson Music Center to Synesthesia. Art is just as important as music in the development of a person’s creative soul, and I wanted to do something unique for our community.”

Amber Burton, Web Designer

Amber Burton joined the staff of Synesthesia in May 2009 as the Assistant to the Director and Web Designer. Amber helps hang and take-down exhibitions in addition to maintaining Synesthesia’s web site. She is also an accomplished graphic designer who has developed Synethesia’s logo and promotional material. Amber is an avid arts enthusiast who has studied piano, trombone, and alto and tenor sax. She also regularly volunteers for Art at the Trace, a yearly upscale art event held at Yankee Trance in Centerville, OH. In her free time she studies theater, visits art galleries and museums, and attends music concerts. As a community organizer, Amber most recently participated in the Walk with Us to Cure Lupus in with she helped raise more than $30,000 for Lupus research. Amber recently graduated from Sinclair Community College in December 2008 with an A.A.S Computer Information Systems: Software Development. She now attends Wright State University.
